Holiday Time

It’s everyone’s favorite time of year again.  The department stores and commercials have already begun to advertise Christmas gifts, and it is not even Thanksgiving.  As exciting as the holidays can be, we sometimes forget to think about the risks that go hand in hand with  the holiday season, including credit card hacking and fires starting from decorations or cooking.

It is important to be as safe as possible while cooking and decorating your home for the holidays, but everyone knows that, right? It is understandable that you may not be thinking about insurance during the holiday season, however, it should be one of the items to consider.

Credit card fraud has been a hot topic for many department stores in the past year, including Target, Home Depot and Kmart just to name a few.  We all use our credit cards more often than cash which exposes our personal information to eager online hackers.   As this has become a large issue, more and more companies are considering Cyber liability and Crime insurance policies to mitigate their risks for cyber breach.

So while you are enjoying the snow and commercials advertising the hot, new toy your child “needs” to have this holiday season, think a little about some of the risks the holidays can bring and  how proper management of these risks can not only protect your investment but also give you piece of mind.
