With over three decades of expertise, Al seamlessly integrates the strategic foresight of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) with extensive hands-on experience in tactical strategy implementation. He collaborates closely with executive leaders and frontline operational managers, catalyzing transformative change in organizations entrenched in outdated risk paradigms.
In his role as Managing Principal, Al cultivates enduring client relationships at The ALS Group, nurturing collaborative partnerships that prioritize personalized attention and adaptable solutions, yielding optimal returns on client investments. His professional journey spans diverse industries and global landscapes, encompassing real estate, construction, retail, manufacturing, distribution, private equity/venture capital, M&A due diligence, and Public/Private Partnerships (P3). Al routinely guides clients through comprehensive risk and coverage analyses, including evaluations of OCIP versus CCIP, broker RFPs, and enterprise-wide risk assessments.
Recognized as both an active author and captivating speaker, Al is frequently sought after to share his distinctive “three-dimensional” perspective on risk management with professional organizations eager to glean insights from his wealth of experience.
A member of the Professional Liability Underwriters Society, Al holds a coveted Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation. When he’s not immersed in his work (given The ALS Group’s round-the-clock client commitment), Al indulges his passion for golf and hockey, relishing moments spent with his wife of over four decades, his son and daughter, and his two lively grandchildren.

Since joining the Firm in 2009, Nick has been providing risk management advice to the Firm’s largest real estate and construction clients. He is part of The Firm’s Senior Leadership Team and plays a pivotal role in ensuring our clients are afforded innovative, sound and commercially reasonable solutions to their risk related issues.
During his tenure at The ALS Group, Nick has worked with clients in various industries including real estate, construction, retail, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution and Public/Private Partnerships (P3).
Nick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist designation and currently resides in Atlanta, GA where he enjoys playing Golf every chance he can get.

An IT and cyber-risk specialist, Jonathan Edwards spearheads The ALS Group’s efforts to help its clients manage and mitigate the diversity of technology-based risks which are proliferating across the business landscape. Jon has been with The ALS Group for 20 years, having begun his tenure maturing and maintaining the firm’s technology infrastructure and has now grown into the Managing Director.
Jon, also, leads the Vendor Insurance and Compliance Management Team alongside two (2) team leads who help to manage the day to day activity of this division. The Compliance area works with our clients’ design professionals, vendors, subcontractors, and tenants to ensure they carry insurance that meets their contractual requirements. He continues working on maturing the technology platform that The ALS Group utilizes to ensure vendor compliance and has even helped customize software to meet the needs of our clients and vendors alike!
One of the Jon’s many contributions to the success of ALS has been seamlessly migrating the firm to a secure cloud workspace, simultaneously enhancing resiliency and security while affording ALS Group associates the ability to respond to client needs from any location, at any time, with just an internet connection, bolstering the firm’s 24/7 responsiveness.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University and a Cybersecurity certificate from Rutgers University. When Jon is not working hard in the business and on the business, he enjoys watching and playing hockey and spending time with his wife and daughter! Jon plays guitar, is a huge Star Wars fan, and often trains at his family’s martial arts academy.

Irina has been instrumental in the firm’s growth and provides critical input in all aspects of client engagement and firm strategy.

Irina brings more than 30 years of management and administrative experience to her role as the head of strategic planning and administration at The ALS Group, where she has worked since 2010. Irina has been instrumental in the firm’s growth and provides critical input in all aspects of client engagement and firm strategy.
A natural at numbers (she’s the daughter of a mathematics professor and studied calculus in fifth grade), her prior experience includes serving with the head of the Information Systems Division of Drexel Burnham Lambert in New York; she has also assisted senior executives at companies such as UBS and Lazard. Irina has played an integral role in several prominent financial transactions, including one of the largest deals ever consummated in the orthopedic industry.
Raised and educated in Europe, Irina is fluent in several languages (including Russian and Ukrainian), which helps The ALS Group to serve its diverse international clientele.
Irina lives in New Jersey with her husband of more than 40 years and her rescue dog Molly. She has one son with a beautify family. When Irina isn’t working hard in the business or on the business, she cherishes the moments she gets to spend with her grandson, Ryan and granddaughter, Charlie.

Jessica’s extensive management experience comes from her 10 year tenure in the Retail sector where, she has helped, both, large and small teams achieve their best performance potential.
In her current role Jessica is pivotal in driving the performance of the ALS team. In addition to that, she organizes fun events for the staff and is the driving force behind finding the right initiatives for The ALS Group to give back to the community as a firm. Mrs. Aviles spearheaded and now oversees ALS’ internship program to support a “grow your own” staffing model for entry level candidates looking to start their career in Risk Management. Jessica is the in-house HR and Talent Management representative for the growing Risk Management, Compliance and BOH team.
Jessica went to college in New York and has a degree in Fashion Business. She was raised in Staten Island, where she continues to reside with her husband and daughters, Mia and Stella.

Maria is responsible for the support staff, training and management of the Firm’s Best Practices. She has an extensive background in the Legal and Telecommunication fields which has helped her manage, organize, and complete multiple projects within set time frames. Maria has been mentoring her team members to better deliver well thought out analysis and solutions to problems. She has made a significant contribution to our client service team’s ability to provide effective risk management advice to our clients by supporting the team with comprehensive administrative support.
Maria resides in Gladstone, NJ with her husband and daughter.
